  2. Proper processes and contracts should be in place to manage time, cost, and quality.  
  3. Hire trusted vendors with proven record for long term partnership.
  4. Geographical location of the development team should be based on organization’s needs.
  5. Best practices in development should be followed for future maintainability of the platform.
  6. Focus on core functionality, use third party integration for feature completeness in the initial phase of the platform releases.
